Welcome to Your PMU Appointment!

When you arrive, we’ll start by filling out your consent form. We’ll go over aftercare and what to expect during your procedure. I’d love to see your brow or permanent makeup goals, so feel free to send me pictures before your appointment!

I personally tend to start conservatively—think natural and subtle. We can always add more (bigger, darker, bolder) at your touch-up, but we cannot take away! The procedure usually takes 1.5–2 hours. You’ll be a little tender but generally comfortable. I use a topical numbing first, then another numbing agent after the skin is broken for extra comfort. Most clients say, “THAT’S IT!” Many come in nervous and leave surprised at how painless it is. My goal is to make you comfortable and have fun in the process!

What is PMU?

PMU stands for permanent makeup, a cosmetic procedure that uses pigments to create long-lasting makeup effects on the face or body. It’s also known as cosmetic tattooing.

Healing Timeline

• PMU takes 7–10 days to heal and 6–8 weeks to fully settle.

• The first 72 hours are crucial—follow all aftercare instructions for best results.

• The first two weeks are essential in the healing process.

Follow-Up Appointment

Your first session lays the groundwork for your shape. Once fully healed (6–8 weeks), we’ll do your follow-up. This is where the magic happens—your artist can assess how your skin healed, adjust strokes, and make any additions. Most clients end up wanting their brows darker or bolder once they see the results!

The Emotional Roller Coaster

It’s normal to have all kinds of emotions about your new look—it’s a change to your face! Here’s what you might experience during healing:

• Day 1: What did I just do…?

• Day 2: OH MY GOSH! I LOVE THEM!

• Day 3: Why are they so dark?

• Days 4–5: Perfect and beautiful.

• Days 6–8: Crusty brow stage (don’t pick!).

• Days 9–10: Flaking off unevenly.

• Days 11–14: You might panic thinking the ink didn’t take (it did!).

• Day 14+: You’ll fall in love and want to show everyone!

Maintaining Your Brows

Even though PMU is low-maintenance, protect your brows from the sun and use at least SPF 30. Most people return around year 2, but longevity depends on skin type, lifestyle, and personal preference.

Your Result May Vary

Everyone’s skin is different, which affects how long ink lasts—mature, young, oily, dry—it all matters. If you’re concerned, discuss it with your artist beforehand.
